Anna-Katharina Coenen appointed Chief Risk Officer of HSBC Germany

HSBC announces today that Anna-Katharina Coenen is appointed Chief Risk Officer of HSBC Germany with effect from 1st October, 2023. In her new role she will become a member of the German Executive Committee. She succeeds Nik Speer, who decided to leave HSBC at the end of September 2023.

Not just does she know our business in Germany well, but also that of HSBC’s continental European entity.”

Anna has extensive experience in finance and risk. After working for Commerzbank in various roles, she joined HSBC in 2018. Since 2019 she is Head of Operational & Resilience Risk at HSBC Germany. And since October 2022, she is also in charge of Operational & Resilience Risk at HSBC Continental Europe.

By taking on the role as CRO of HSBC Germany, Anna will hand over her responsibilities at HBCE in the course of 2023. She will continue to be responsible for Operational & Resilience Risk Management for HSBC Germany.
